126, Faught Ranch is the home to our first high density plantings.

During 2007 Brokaw Nursery decided to plant a small high density trial block at Faught Ranch, using a distance of 12’ by 10’. In 2009 a much larger block was planted at a distance of 15.5’ by 6.5’ with Hass as the main scion. After 15 years from planting and having made many mistakes, we feel comfortable with this working density.

Faught Ranch is also the home to some of our nursery budwood mother trees and to one of our rootstock trials known as “Little Denmark”. This trial was established in 2017 and it uses Gem as a scion topworked to 12 different rootstocks (seven commercial and five experimental).
