The Beck-Earli Navel Orange

Discovered in 1958 by James Beck in his grove near Delano, the Beck-Earli show exceptional color and quality for the early navel market. This superior navel orange responds readily to ethylene conditioning, displaying a deep unblemished color. The flesh is also a deep orange color with the highest % juice and total soluble solids of any comparable early navel. The Beck-Earli will give the grower consistent opportunity in the early navel market or throughout the season.

The Beck-Earli navel orange has proven to be the highest quality of the early season navel oranges. This high producing tree bears a deep orange/red fruit that breaks color before other early market fruits from throughout all California orange growing regions. Some of the earliest fruit actually come from Fresno County, not know for this niche. The Beck-Earli has a rich, low-acid flavor enabling the fruit to meet maturity requirements before other early season navels.

Buyers demand Beck-Earli in the early navel season for it’s attractive high color, shipability and shelf life, and mild pleasing flavor. Packing houses report Beck-Earli navel orange sold out at premium prices long before the fruit is off the tree.

Though the Beck-Earli commands the beginning of the navel season. The fruit holds well on the tree and with it’s superior bearing has shown to be competitive throughout the year.
